Welcome to 2023-2024 5th/6th Grade Band!
Congratulations! I am very pleased that your child has expressed an interest in joining the Elementary School’s instrumental music program.
The overall purpose of the program is to begin the study of a musical instrument and experience the pleasure of music through playing that instrument. Benefits from this kind of study go beyond the learning of music. Students also develop self-confidence, a good self-image, responsibility, self-discipline and they learn teamwork through playing with the band. All current research establishes a very strong connection between learning to play a musical instrument and improved test scores and grades.
FAQ's
- Band is a pull out program for all 5th/6th grade students (no experience needed).
- Classes are twice a week for 30 minutes.
- There is no academic grade for this class.
- Students must provide their own instrument and method book.

Instrument Enrollment Period 8/14 - 9/8
Instrument Rental Night, Thursday 8/24 @ 5:30pm-8pm at Norco Intermediate School
Music Instruction begins the week of August 28th.
All students interested in taking part in band or violin lessons must complete the online enrollment form!
